"Operation Loved One" BBQ

1 in 8 older Americans is diagnosed with Alzheimer's. 5.4 million people have Alzheimers in the US. According to the Alzheimer's Association 60 % of Alzheimer's patients wander. The CR Police Dpt. has created a program called "Operation Loved One" This program offers finger printing and photos of your loved one so that if the individual becomes lost or wanders off, the police can assist in locating them quickly.
MeadowView Memory Care Village is hosting this FREE event to promote the use of this program in the Corridor. People caring for individuals with Dementia are encouraged to bring their loved one to enjoy a meal and hear about the program. Officers will be on hand to register individuals in the program, take photos and finger prints. In addition the Alzheimer's Association East Central Iowa Chapter will be on hand answering questions about the disease and providing support group information. Transportation will be provided by The Views and our Activity Directors and a CNA will be accompanying the residents. Home Instead Senior Care will be on hand to assist in getting residents to their reserved handicap accessible seats.
